Manchester Wildcats Movember Charity Tournament 2022
On 19th November we hosted the second Annual Manchester Wildcats Movember Charity Tournament.
This time we went bigger and better! Hosting 16 Teams across two divisions, University/Development and Open.
The main aim of the day was the exact same as last year, raise as much money as possible for Men’s health whilst enjoying some quality polo.
The University/Development League saw a myriad of new players to the game enter the fray from FoAs vibrant junior teams to the university teams who bring their usual unique take on canoe polo tactics and playing style. It was a closely fought affair with one of the semi-finals and the final going to penalties with Liverpool University 1st Team coming out as eventual and deserved winners.
The Open league also had it’s fair share of excitement with individual feats of brilliance going toe to toe with well-rounded team performances seeing the 3rd/4th playoff going to penalties and the final itself seeing the hosts knocked off their pirch by the visiting Yorkshiremen, White Rose.
In the evening we celebrated another successful year of fundraising by restoring any lost calories through fine food and even finer pints. We also awarded the hotly sought after Mo of the day which saw Maziar Gregg retain the illustrious title.
Winners:
University/Development - Liverpool University 1st Team
Open - White Rose
Best Moustache - Maziar Gregg
A huge thank you to all those who came and an even bigger thank you to all those who donated.
The Tournament raised a total of: £1,676.00
