D Team Captain’s Preview 2023

Hopes and D[reams] from National League:

Aside from rebranding the D team as the D[ream] Team, the main goal for this season is to see the team grow, improve and enjoy playing polo as a collective.

This is the first time that Wildcats has fielded 4 teams in National League, which is so exciting and a real testament to the growth of the club in recent years.

It’s great that there’s a team for everyone and my hope is that over the course of the season, the D team will become a supportive culture that allows us to really push ourselves in a competitive environment.

We have a real mix of polo experience on the team and as a result, there’s a lot we can learn from one another, and this season offers a real space for us to grow into as a team.

Last year, the Wildcats team in Division 3 finished in 6th place, and it would be great to improve on that this season but ultimately, the dream is to come out the other side of this season improved (both individually and collectively), more confident in our ability and game, having played some good polo, challenged ourselves and hopefully with some wins under our belt.

I’m really looking forward our tournaments on home turf at Sale Water Park, and I’m sure we’ll do Wildcats proud. So, big D[reams] for the season.
